Rose Lodge Care Home Wins Award!

Rose Lodge Care Home is one of the many care homes Nouveau Wellbeing CIC provides Chair Dance for. This happens on a weekly basis, helping them improve their health and wellbeing and build their coordination. We use equipment such as maracas and scarves to help them engage in the dances and exercises. The residents love to sing along to the music and feel very happy to take part and socialise at the same time. This brings all the residents in the care home together and provides a fun, friendly and exciting environment for them. We have seen many of the residents who wouldn’t normally participate in any activities really enjoy the classes we teach and engage well with the instructor.
We have just recently found out that they were nominated and won the Maria Mallaband and countrywide care award for ‘Home of the Year’.

Maria Mallaband Care Group and sister company Countrywide Care Homes are one of the countries biggest independent providers of care for the elderly, along with luxurious close care apartments and retirement villas, gaining a reputation of innovation and excellence in these fields.
The awards ceremony in Leeds, now in its third year, recognised exceptional practice from staff who are committed to improving the lives of people living in residential care.
Judges were impressed with Rose Lodge’s dedication to providing the highest quality care to its resident, its innovative activities and its community engagement programme. They received nominations from staff, residents, families and healthcare professionals alike.
Rose Lodge Housekeeper Margaret Magneron also walked away with the ‘Housekeeping Highflyer’ award for her outstanding service. Also named as national finalists from Rose Lodge was Head Chef David Nevison for the ‘Masterchef’ award and Deputy Manager Leeann Burnside for the ‘End of Life Care’ Award.
Nicola Wheatley, Care Manager at Rose Lodge, said: “We couldn’t be happier with our Home of the Year success. It means so much to us, and it really has been a whole home effort. It feels wonderful to receive an award which recognises the whole team. Each and every one of our staff members strives to be the best at what they do and together are a dedicated, friendly and committed team.”
